Mickey Mantle & Roger Maris Single Signed Photographs, Lot of 2. Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris shared a relationship defined by both camaraderie and the intense spotlight of history. As teammates on the New York Yankees in the early 1960s, they were thrust together during the 1961 home run chase, when both pursued Babe Ruth's single-season record, with Maris ultimately hitting 61. While the media often tried to pit them against each other-casting Mantle as the beloved Yankee hero and Maris as the quieter outsider-the two actually developed a respectful and friendly bond. Mantle openly supported Maris during the pressure-filled season, and their connection became remembered less as a rivalry and more as a partnership shaped by shared scrutiny. Over time, their friendship and mutual respect stood out, showing that the "M&M Boys" were linked as much by loyalty as by their historic pursuit.Offered is an 8x10" photograph signed by Mantle and an 8x10" photograph signed by Maris.
