    Description

Late 1920's Mel Ott Original News Photograph by Conlon, PSA/DNA Type 1. Two of the greatest practitioners of their respective fields join forces here to create one of the most recognizable batting images of Master Melvin, used in trading cards of the period. Working the shutter was the great Charles Conlon, a man whose peerless skill in the service of The Sporting News was instrumental in building a visual record of the pre-war game. Photo is trimmed of borders and bears editorial markings on obverse and verso, the latter likewise bearing Conlon's studio stamp and a sticker attributing derivation to the 1996 auction of the Baseball Magazine archives. Dimensions 6.5x8.5". Condition VG-EX. LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1.
