    Description

Early 1930's Lou Gehrig at Brewery Original Photographs Lot of 2, PSA/DNA Type 1 from The Lou Gehrig Collection.

UPDATE: This lot includes a letter of provenance from the consignor.

They say that every stereotype has some basis in truth, and Gehrig here appears to validate the German love for beer. Two 8x10" photographs find the well-dressed legend touring a brewery, likely in the early days of the repeal of Prohibition. A note on the back of one of the otherwise blank-backed photos reads, "Lou attends opening of new brewery in New York City." We suspect it's a Jacob Ruppert brewery. Imprint from a New Jersey photograph studio appears at lower right corner of each. Minor handling wear, otherwise fine. LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1 for each. Letter of provenance from consignor.
