    Description

Circa1960s Sadaharu Oh Original Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1. Born six years after the famed 1934 Baseball Tour of Japan turned Ruth and Gehrig into international celebrities and planted a seed that established Tokyo as a baseball world capital, left-handed slugger Sadaharu Oh is widely recognized today as the sport's reigning Home Run King, responsible for a staggering 868 long balls in his twenty-two seasons with the Yomiuri Giants of Nippon Professional Baseball.

Reverse stamping on this 4.75x6.5" original photograph of February 1961 leads us to believe that this image was originally captured during one of Oh's first two seasons as a professional - '59 or '60. General handling wear exhibited with a lower right corner crease also found is "Yomiuri" embossing in the same corner. Reverse has Sporting News Collection hologram alongside typed identifier. LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, Type 1.
