    Description

Circa 2000 Nat Fein Signed "The Babe Bows Out" Large Photograph. The Pulitzer Prize-winning photograph is the definitive image recalling the sad final ovation afforded to the Babe on June 13, 1948 at the House that he built. Fein recounted the warm, grey day years later, recalling how he had snuck away from the other photographers to shoot the number "3" that would never again ride Yankee pinstripes, and how he had foregone the use of a flash to capture the somber mood of the occasion. Ruth would die just two months later. This 16x20" print is tastefully matted and framed to dimensions of 24.25x28.25", and is signed by Fein in gold at lower right. Limited edition of 5/250 is penciled below left corner of photo. Perhaps the most famous and moving baseball photograph of all. Great condition. Provenance: Eric C. Caren Collection.
