"I wouldn't throw all spitballs, but I always had them looking for it." -- Stan Coveleski

During his fourteen-year Hall of Fame career, Stan Coveleski baffled hitters with his spitball and control, perennially ranking among the league's top ten in fewest walks per nine innings pitched. His greatest season was 1920 when he won a career-high twenty-four games and his Cleveland Indians captured the World Series.

Sepia gelatin print is signed in NRMT steel-tip blue fountain pen. Shot by famed baseball photographer George Burke, Stan is seen in a familiar pitching pose of the day, circa 1916-18. Verso has photo archive details and the photographer's stamp. Measures 4x6". Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication. Auction LOA from SGC Authentic.
