    Description

Circa 1927 Lou Gehrig Original News Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1 from The Lou Gehrig Collection.

UPDATE: This lot includes a letter of provenance from the consignor.

Glorious full-body shot of the Iron Horse in his prime predates 1929, when the Yanks started wearing jersey numbers. Image is slightly trimmed to 8x6" dimensions, with "Wide World Photo" stamping on verso, and the scrap of a lost paper caption. Vertical crease runs to the right of Gehrig's frame, but is only apparent upon close inspection. This will frame up beautifully. LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1. Letter of provenance from consignor.
