    Description

Circa 1915 Christy Mathewson Original News Photograph by George Grantham Bain, PSA/DNA Type 1. His utter pitching supremacy is evident in his eye-popping record of 373-188--a nearly two-to-one ratio of success--and a career earned run average of just 2.13. But in an era of boozing, brawling and beanballing, the college-educated Mathewson shone as a diamond in the sport's rough, touted in the day's sports pages as "The Gentleman Hurler."

This wonderful image that finds the inaugural class Hall of Famer set against the boldly adorned expanse of outfield wall derives from the famed archives of "Culver Pictures," as stamping on verso reveals, its creator the esteemed baseball lensman George Grantham Bain. A true artistic masterpiece, arguably one of the finest Mathewson images that exists. Dimensions are 6.5x4.5", and condition defects are only apparent upon close inspection, most notably an inconsequential lower left corner bend. LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1.

Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am regarding the sale of my hockey jersey. You were great to work with, you answered all my phone calls and e-mails in a prompt manner, and you did a great job marketing the jersey.
