    Description

Circa 1910 Eddie Plank Imperial Cabinet Photograph from the Frank "Home Run" Baker Collection. The definitive photographic portrait of this Hall of Fame southpaw, who grew up playing baseball on the former killing fields of Gettysburg and registered 326 wins during his seventeen season career. The image dates from the Athletics' World Championship era, when Plank was in his mid-thirties, and the years of a hard baseball life are evident in his face. The image itself measures a tremendous 10x14", and presents as a legitimate NRMT. The mount, which brings the final dimensions to 14x18", has not fared as well, losing chips of various sizes on three of the four corners. A proper matting and framing job will disguise these shortcomings however, delivering a stirring and trouble-free display.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
