Circa 1907 Tris Speaker Rookie-Era Original Photograph by Paul Thompson, PSA/DNA Type 1. The majority of the photos featuring The Gray Eagle were taken when he was an established star. Tris Speaker was almost always photographed as a member of the Cleveland Indians. Very few photos exist from his time as a Boston American/Red Sox. Henry Yee dates the offered 6.5x8.75" photograph to the 1900's meaning it is one of the earliest known from the slugging great.

We are certain the photo was captured before 1911. The team wore jerseys with buttons during home and road games beginning in '11 and ditched the laced collar concept altogether. Speaker is wearing a jersey with laces here. This beauty has edge wear and the left corner missing. Some light surface cracking is visible just above Speaker's cap. The reverse has a "Photo by Paul Thompson" stamp, two "The Ring" stamps and "Speaker C.F. Bos Am." written. We must note that the last year the Boston team was called Americans was in 1907 - Speaker's rookie season. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, Type 1. Full LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1.
