    c. 1900s Nick Altrock Photograph by Carl Horner - Image Used for Four Cards. The list of players that can say they out-pitched a Hall of Famer in a World Series, had a salary equal to that of Babe Ruth at his peak, and appeared in a Major League game in five different decades is a singular one, with Nick Altrock being that player. After arm injuries stymied his playing career, Altrock would go on to be one of the most-popular baseball clowns of all-time while simultaneously coaching in Washington until 1957. Taken by Carl Horner this photograph of the traveled baseball man measures 3.75x5.5"' and is paper backed with "Nick Altrock Pitcher" scrawled in graphite. Mild-to-moderate handling wear exhibited. Of interest to a particular set of collectors, this image was used as the basis for Altrock's following cards as well as other uncatalogued team-issued material:

1902-11 Sporting Life Cabinets W600 (rookie card)
    1904 Fan Craze A.L. WG2
1908-09 Rose Company Postcard PC760 (only three examples of the card itself are known)
1909 Colgan's Chips "Stars of the Diamond" E254

Please note that the photograph was sent to PSA/DNA but they no longer authenticate Horner photos without original mounts and no letter was written.
