    Baseball Photos 1920 BABE RUTH FRAMED WIRE PHOTO. Babe Ruth is shown in the wirephoto shot strutting home following his 22nd home run of the season. The heading on this International (news service) photo caption reads, "AND THEY"RE STILL LOOKING FOR THE BALL!" Ruth was changing the way the game was being played and the "lively ball" era was underway here in the Polo Grounds on June 25, 1920. Ruth would break his previous homer record of 29 by lifting out 54 home runs this year, far surpassing second-place finisher George Sisler who had only 19. The photo is approximately 6" x 9" while the total framed piece measures 12 1/2" x 15".
