1957 Yogi Berra Original Photograph by Osvaldo Salas, PSA/DNA Type 1 Signed by Photographer. The start of the 1950s saw Osvaldo Salas trying to make his way as a welder in the Concrete Jungle of New York City, the middle of the decade - specifically the biggest baseball stars of the day - was seen through the lens of his camera, and by the time the calendar flipped to 1960 Salas had become one of the photographers for Fidel Castro's Cuban Revolution.

With nearly 1,000 of his striking images from the diamond and the mountains of Cuba stored within the walls of the Baseball Hall of Fame any new listing of an original Salas is sure to generate buzz within the photograph collecting community.

This particular image features the Yankees' diminutive backstop Yogi Berra ripping a pitcher's offering back into the field of play, which remains just out of the confines of the 8x10" snapshot. Hand-signed by the Cuban photojournalist in black ink along the lower edge of the mildly worn composition. Reverse features player identification in graphite, a cataloging stamp, as well as the all-important Salas studio stamp. Full LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1.
