    Description

1951 Willie Mays Period-Signed Original Photograph Used for 1952 Berk Ross Card, PSA/DNA Type 1. That diamond-shaped patch on the left sleeve, one of our favorites in the history of Major League sleeve adornments, appeared on all National League jerseys to recognize the seventy-fifth anniversary of the Senior Circuit, ensuring that this marvelous portrait photograph dates to the subject's 1951 Rookie of the Year campaign. It's likewise the uniform style worn by a jubilant home team at the Polo Grounds as Bobby Thomson struck his immortal Shot Heard 'round the World to punch the Giants' ticket to a World Series clash with the Yankees.

If the image looks familiar, we'll wager you're a trading card enthusiast, as the shot found a home upon the obverse of Mays' entry in the 1952 Berk Ross issue. But this photo features a welcome alteration lacking in that collectible cardboard, a personalized autograph from Mays in his rare rookie signature format.

The 8x10" photo is blank-backed and presents with no condition problems beyond the lightest edge and corner wear. Inscription and autograph rate 8.5/10. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.

Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am regarding the sale of my hockey jersey. You were great to work with, you answered all my phone calls and e-mails in a prompt manner, and you did a great job marketing the jersey.
