1947 Babe Ruth Signed Photograph. Twenty-seven years to the day before Hank Aaron would take a seat beside him on the throne as Home Run King, Babe Ruth inscribed this 8x10" photograph in one of his infinite gestures of kindness to the youth of America. Ruth's black fountain pen ink reads, "To Michael McCarthy and the boys and girls of the Church of Jesus and Mary School, From Babe Ruth, 4-4-47." Ink ranges from 6/10 to 8/10. Silver gelatin photograph by "Thorne" is toned at the edges, with "silvering" in the image common to such period photographs, but the overall aesthetics are quite strong. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
