Description

1946 Jackie Robinson Original News Service Photograph Used for His 1947 Bond Bread Card, PSA/DNA Type 1. Contrary to their reaction in Florida during Dodgers' Spring Training, the Montreal community welcomed the Robinsons with open arms as his affiliated baseball journey began. Jackie would lead the league in batting average and runs scored as the Royals captured the pennant and subsequent "Little World Series."

Snapped some time during his historic season north of the border this 6.75x8.5" original news service photograph taken by an International News photographer. The crystal clear image was later air-brushed and used for Robinson's 1947 Bond Bread (Batting, White Shirt Sleeves) card - making it all the more desirable to collectors. Reverse features news service stamping with production notations and identifiers. LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, Type 1.
