Description
1944 Portsmouth Cubs Team Signed Photograph with Jimmie Foxx. Double X volunteered for military service this year but was rejected due to a sinus condition, thus turning his attentions to a new duty as player/manager for the Portsmouth (VA) club of the Class B Piedmont League. Here we find him smiling broadly standing second from right beneath an 8/10 black fountain pen signature. The rest of the team signs as well, though we see no recognizable names or faces. The 8x10" exhibits tack holes and the corners and a small stain at the upper left border, but these issues could be camouflaged almost completely with a simple framing job. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
