    Description

1941 Phil Rizzuto Original Photograph Used for 1948 Bowman Card by William Greene, PSA/DNA Type 1. Yankees shortstop Phil Rizzuto was a five-time All-Star, seven-time World Series champion and the 1950 American League MVP. These accomplishments loom even greater when you consider that the 5-6, 150-pound Rizzuto was told to pursue a career as a shoe-shine boy, not a ballplayer, by an unimpressed New York Giants coach. This 7.25x9.25" photograph shows Scooter snagging a grounder in the air. It is the same photograph used for his 1948 Bowman rookie card. Thankfully, the offered image shows the entire photo and is not cropped as tightly as the Bowman card was. The reverse is blank. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, Type 1.
