    Description

1941 Joe DiMaggio Original News Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1. How great must it have been to be Joe DiMaggio in 1941? Twenty-six, tall, handsome, MVP, World Series champion, and the toast of New York. Joltin' Joe was all of these in 1941. This image encapsulates all that with a moment from that season frozen in time for eternity. We see him kneeling in the on-deck circle with his bats, rubbing the rosin bag while carefully studying the pitcher as he patiently waits for his turn at bat. This crisp image was shot closeup and from ground level, and Joe really pops out against the blurred fans in the background. Chicago Tribune image was taken during Joe's fifty-six-game hit streak and bears date stamps for July 14th (Game 54) and July 17th (the day the ended against Cleveland). Measures 7.5x10". The right border has been trimmed but it doesn't affect DiMaggio. Full LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1.
