1941 Joe DiMaggio Breaks Wee Willie Keeler's Consecutive Games Hit Streak Original News Service Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1.
Joe DiMaggio is finishing the swing which pushed him past Wee Willie Keeler's consecutive games hit mark at Yankee Stadium July 2, 1941. It would be the forty-fifth straight game which DiMaggio hit safely in. The Yankee Clipper hit a homer in the fifth inning to set the new standard - one which he would put way out of reach. This 7x9" photo shows DiMaggio in his pinstriped best while Red Sox catcher Frankie Pytlak and home plate umpire Eddie Rommel look on. A caption is affixed to the reverse along with a news service stamp. LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1.
