1941 Dizzy Dean Signed Photograph by George Burke. Although encapsulated "c. 1930's", the bizarre Chicago Cubs uniform style, featuring a white-shouldered navy undershirt beneath a white vest, dates this image definitively to Dean's last official season in the Majors (though he did return for four innings of work with the 1947 St. Louis Browns). He still has that unmistakable pitching style that powered the Gashouse Gang to the World Championship though, and his inscription at lower right only adds to the appeal of the shot, reading, "Best of All Good Wishes to you Joe, From Your Pal Dizzy Dean." The black ink suffers a bit in contrast but rates a technical 7/10. The photo is the work of renowned lensman Burke, whose stamp appears on verso. Edge and corner wear is apparent, but the image area suffers no major distractions. Size 8x10". Encapsulated by PSA/DNA as Type I.
