"I swing big, with everything I've got. I hit big or I miss big. I like to live as big as I can."

1940's Babe Ruth Signed Oversized Photograph, PSA/DNA NM-MT 8. "Moderation" was not a word in the Babe's vocabulary, and that uncompromising attitude proved to be both his ticket to success and, ultimately, his road to ruin. The provided image finds him balanced between those two divergent poles, captured on set of filming for the Lou Gehrig biopic that would come to be known as "The Pride of the Yankees." Not long afterwards, the cancer that would end his life in 1948 began its cruel task, carving the massive, world-beating frame down to the wisp that would lie in state for two days at Yankee Stadium.

And so this photo will always inspire a twinge of melancholy in us, a study in both mortality and immortality, and one of the most famous images of the Sultan of Swat that exists. This is our favorite representation that we've encountered, printed to unusually large 10x13" dimensions and bearing a bold black fountain pen autograph that finds the signer making full use of his expanded girth. The "Sincerely, Babe Ruth" application rates a technical 8/10, though the visuals travel like a Ruthian home run blast, remaining readily legible from considerable distance.

A few light wrinkles inhabit the western edge of the photo but offer little distraction and remain well clear of the autograph. We have not examined the photo outside of its frame, which completes the dimensions at 15x18". Full Grading LOA from PSA/DNA, NM-MT 8. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am regarding the sale of my hockey jersey. You were great to work with, you answered all my phone calls and e-mails in a prompt manner, and you did a great job marketing the jersey.
