1939 Lou Gehrig Original Spring Training News Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1. Taken less than two months before he would pull himself from the lineup due to the rarest of diseases, this "Acme Newpictures" branded photograph shows Lou Gehrig following through on a hard swing in spring training. The wrinkles on his face show the full exertion he must have been using to try to battle out his (then) unknown physical illness. After all, he had become the iron horse of baseball, used to playing through concussions, sprains, broken bones and all sorts of other setbacks. The 7x9" photo includes original slug, extensive stamping on the verso, and is in Very Good condition. LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1.
