1939 Lou Gehrig Farewell Ceremony with Babe Ruth Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 2. It's one of our favorite baseball photos that exists, capturing the two greatest Yankees of them all at their absolute noblest moment. Lou Gehrig had just delivered baseball's equivalent of the Gettysburg Address, bidding farewell to the sport (and ultimately, his life) with the brave statement that he nonetheless felt like "the luckiest man on the face of the Earth." And then there's Babe Ruth, dismissing years of shared antipathy to support his old teammate as his world was falling apart. This print was made in the 1950's, thus the Type 2 designation, but it's still a genuine treasure. Dimensions 8x10". Fine condition. LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 2.
