    Description

1939 Jimmie Foxx Presented with Gift from Red Sox Original News Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1.
The oversized patch on Jimmie Foxx's left sleeve dates this original 8.5x6.5" photograph to the 1939 season. Foxx was the toast of the American League in 1938 as he slugged his way to the MVP award - the third of a Hall of Fame career. The Beast is receiving a pistol from the organization as a token of its appreciation. Foxx, flanked by his teammates, is all smiles here. The following appears on back: "International News Photo" (stamp) and paper caption which is not attached but pasted to a black backing. Originates from Harry Evans' extensive collection. LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1.
