Description1938 Ted Williams Original Negative by George Burke. Ted Williams shows he's ready for the big leagues by tearing up the American Association to win a minor league Triple Crown with the Minneapolis Millers.
He led the league with 43 home runs, 142 RBI's and a smoking .366 batting average. A rare and vintage photograph of Ted Williams before his Red Sox legacy began.
One of the most famous sports photographers of all time, George Burke understood the media and public's demand for photos of athletes. He began shooting baseball players in the 1920's, and would go on to leave a legacy of classic images, both portraits and action shots, usually of individual players instead of groups. Many Burke photos ended up as the central image on cards produced during the same time. Just under 5x7" in size and on Eastman Kodak Safety Film. NRMT condition and still suitable for making quality prints.
