1938 Dizzy Dean Original News Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1. In his first season with the Cubs in 1938, Dean posted a 7-1 record and a 1.81 ERA as a spot starter. In the image on offer here, Dizzy is captured warming up for his May 3rd start versus the Philadelphia Athletics at Wrigley Field in Chicago. He would win the game but hurt his arm in the process and be out until July 17th when the image was used by the Chicago Tribune to announce his return to the mound versus the Boston Bees. Image measures 7.75x10". Left border trimmed, light creases, nice Wrigley scenery in the background. Full LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1.
