Long ball leviathans invade the Orient...

1934 Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig & Jimmie Foxx Signed Tour of Japan Photograph, PSA/DNA Authentic.
The 1934 Tour of Japan is unquestionably the most consequential foreign excursion in the history of our national pastime, sowing the seeds of a sport that would truly blossom in the Land of the Rising Sun, as well as providing cover for catcher/spy Moe Berg, whose espionage would prove essential in the approaching Second World War. This one-of-a-kind snapshot finds the three greatest sluggers of the pre-war era--Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and Jimmie Foxx--relaxing at the the edge of jam-packed Japanese grandstands in the weeks following the end of Ruth's tenure with the New York Yankees.

Ruth and Gehrig autograph the 2.25x3.25" image in 10/10 black fountain pen ink, with Foxx just one shade lighter. Rounding out the cast of signers are umpire John Quinn and translator Sotaro Suzuki, in 6/10 and 8/10 ink respectively.

The photo itself is well-registered in sepia tones and represents the finest image bearing these three essential autographs since another commanded $56,762 in our July 2014 Platinum Night event. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, Authentic.
