    Description

1933 Major League Baseball Inaugural All-Star Game Original News Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1. A tradition was born this day as the finest players of the American and National Leagues faced off at Chicago's Comiskey Park, a match held in conjunction with the 1933 World's Fair in Chicago and originally slated to be just a one-time event. The rousing success inspired the game's installation as an annual match. Here we find the American League's finest of the time just before the game. Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig are situated next to each other while Connie Mack is dressed in his traditional suit. A few of the players in the front row were conversing as the 7x9" photo was snapped. The reverse has an "Acme Newspictures" stamp, reference department stamp (with "Jul 11 1933" date), paper caption and PSA/DNA sticker. LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1.
