Description

1933 Babe Ruth Signed Photograph, PSA/DNA Authentic Auto. The 1934 Baseball Tour of Japan is the stuff of legend, but far fewer historians are aware that the Babe headed west to Hawaii in 1933 for a barnstorming tour and hit a home run on the first pitch he saw in Honolulu, where this image was snapped. He famously met and surfed with Duke Kahanamoku and planted a banyan tree in Hilo that still stands today.

Photograph measures 8x5" and pictures a rotund Ruth posing with a well-dressed local. Black fountain pen ink signature is unpersonalized--a rarity for Ruth photos--rating 8/10. A second presentational inscription below appears to make a gift of the photo from the person who acquired the signature. Photographer's hallmark at lower right. Some wear and toning is apparent at the wide white borders, but image area itself is NRMT. Blank back. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, Authentic Auto.
