Description

1932 Babe Ruth News Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1. Spectacular portrait photograph of an aging Bambino reports on its accompanying but detached paper caption that "...the mighty walloper of the New York Yankees...will see service in the forthcoming World Series." That Fall Classic, of course, would provide baseball folklore with one of its greatest tales in the form of Ruth's "Called Shot." Reverse is stamped "Associated Press Photo" and dated "Sept. 15, 1932." Also on reverse is a sticker attributing the image to the 1996 sale of the "Baseball Magazine" archives. Size 5x7". Presents as NRMT.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
