    Description

1931 Tour of Japan Photographs Lot of 4 from the Herold "Muddy" Ruel Collection. Larrupin' Lou Gehrig is the big star in this quartet of photographs snapped on this lesser documented (and therefore more difficult for collectors) Tour of Japan. The celebrities don't end there however, as Mickey Cochrane, Frank Frisch, Lefty Grove, Rabbit Maranville and Al Simmons are among the other Hall of Famers present. Muddy himself, of course, makes a couple of appearances too. A great photo (7x9") of Muddy with Gehrig, Cochrane, Maranville, Simmons and more has a handwritten notation at upper left that reads, rather cryptically, "The 'Seven Mules' -- In other words, 'The Unholy Seven.'" A pair of 4x6" photos are affixed to opposing sides of a scrapbook page, while the third of that approximate size, picturing Gehrig trying to operate chopsticks, shows remnants of a scrapbook page on verso. All present as EX-MT or better.

Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am regarding the sale of my hockey jersey. You were great to work with, you answered all my phone calls and e-mails in a prompt manner, and you did a great job marketing the jersey.
