    Description

1930's Hank Greenberg Original Negative by George Burke. The six-foot-four-inch Greenberg is seen holding his bat and staring straight at the camera, with "Detroit" scripted across his chest, in this 1930's negative. Hank's decade highs included unreal numbers like 143 runs scored, sixty-three doubles, fifty-eight home runs, and 184 runs batted in. One of the most famous sports photographers of all time, George Burke understood the media and public demand for photos of athletes. He began shooting baseball players in the 1920's, and would go on to leave a legacy of classic images, both portraits and action shots, usually of individual players instead of groups. Many Burke photos ended up as the central image on cards produced during the same time. Just under 5x7" in size and on AGFA Safety Film. NRMT condition and still suitable for making quality prints.
