    Description

1930's-40's George Burke Photographs Lot of 247. Fittingly recognized as the preeminent baseball lensman of his age, Burke's photographic studies captured the greatest figures of the game through the dreamy haze that we see prewar baseball in our mind's eye. Assembled here are over two hundred 4x6" prints, each bearing Burke's studio stamping on verso, featuring a wide spectrum of talent from the two decades prior to the Second World War. Notables include Ruth, Cuyler, Hartnett, Durocher, Simmons, Manush, Lyons, Hoyt, Gomez, Bottomley and many more. Condition is a conservative and consistent EX throughout. Guide Value or Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000.
