1930 Philadelphia Athletics Panoramic Photograph. After the 1927 New York Yankees, most baseball historians place the 1929 and 1930 A's team at the top of the charts when it comes to all-time greatest teams. Here we find a fantastic vintage image of that legendary squad, the photo's former owner Eric McNair appearing at far left in the standing row. McNair, of course, is best remembered for his participation in the 1934 Baseball Tour of Japan with Ruth, Gehrig and the spy Moe Berg. Pictured along with McNair are Mack, Foxx, Cochrane, Grove, Simmons, Collins and 1919 Black Sox skipper Kid Gleason. Photo measures an impressive 10x14" in size and offers only a mild upper right corner crease, otherwise a very conservative EX-MT. Letter of provenance from McNair's son will accompany photograph.
