A personal souvenir of World Championship glory from the team's Hall of Fame catcher!

1929 Philadelphia Athletics Team Signed Panoramic Photograph from The Mickey Cochrane Collection. Highly collectible and capable of realizing prices approaching $3,000 in its unsigned state, this glorious panorama takes on an elephantine appeal with the addition of twenty-seven autographs, representing almost every last man pictured, all the way down to the young mascot that kneels at center.

Those familiar with the composition of this squad, prominent in any educated discussion of the all-time greatest teams, will be intimately familiar with the cast of characters: Mack, Foxx, Cochrane, Collins, Grove, Simmons, Bishop, Dykes, Earnshaw, Miller, Boley and Haas among them. This was the first of three editions representing the City of Brotherly Love to dislodge the mighty Yankees from their usual position atop the American League.

The photograph derives from the personal collection of the team's Hall of Fame catcher, the two-time American League Most Valuable Player who so impressed baseball fan Elvin "Mutt" Mantle that the Oklahoma coal miner named his son after him. Only Rube Walberg is absent from the signers, the balance ranging from 2/10 to 8/10, with most on the higher end of that range. The Hall of Famers: Collins (7/10), Cochrane (8/10), Foxx (4/10), Mack (3/10), Simmons (5/10), Grove (4/10).

The photo itself is nearly pristine, thanks in large part to its nearly nine decades of residency within its original black wood and glass frame, dimensions 8.5x31". A splendid memento of Connie Mack's second great dynasty, from his fellow Cooperstown immortal. Letter of provenance from daughter of Mickey Cochrane. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
