Description

1929 Lou Gehrig Signed Photographs (2) Display. Back in their spring training home of St. Petersburg, Florida five months after claiming their second consecutive World Series sweep, the mighty Yanks were tracked down by a camera-wielding fan from whose family this wonderful display derives. Each 2.5x3.25" one-of-a-kind snapshot pictures the heroic Iron Horse, the second likewise capturing Babe Ruth at far right during warm-up tosses. Gehrig has signed each image identically, writing "To Rachelynn, Best Wishes from Lou Gehrig." His blue fountain pen ink averages a conservative 7/10 in strength, and the images themselves exhibit tape stains and light, inconsequential handling detracting nothing from the aesthetics. A truly unique display for the collector bored of the same old photographs. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
