    Description

1929 Lou Gehrig Original News Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1. It's one of the finest Gehrig images we've ever encountered, a skilled photographic portrait of a swing that launched 503 long balls, inclusive of Fall Classic play. Paper caption dates the image to "7-2-29," almost exactly ten years to the day before the superstar first basemen would deliver his heartbreaking "luckiest man" farewell. "International News Photo Inc" stamping likewise appears on reverse. Image measures 8x10" in size with handling wear rarely extending beyond the thin white borders and apparent only upon close examination. Our lot imagery should convey that the aesthetics remain as impressive as the Yankee hero himself. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, Type 1.
