1929 Babe Ruth, Tony Lazzeri & Lou Gehrig News Photograph. The black armbands at their left sleeves and the sad looks on their faces are the result of the recent, sudden passing of their Hall of Fame manager Miller Huggins. The photo is stamped "Oct 1, 1929" on verso, just six days after the diminutive skipper succumbed to blood poisoning precipitated by an eye infection. The 6x8" image is a marvelous study of the men who provided the offensive thunder during the glory days of Murderer's Row. Tack holes at the corners, with the top right chipped at the border, not affecting the image area. Properly matted and framed, the image will approach a NRMT appearance. LOA from PSA/DNA, Type I.
