1928 Ty Cobb Original Photograph Used for His 1928 Star Player Candy Card, PSA/DNA Type 1. While the sight of Ty Cobb in a Philadelphia Athletics uniform may never completely sink in for baseball fans, this 5x7" photograph should resonate with astute card collectors. This very image was used for Cobb's 1928 Star Player Candy card. It would be the final time Cobb appeared in a card series during his playing days. Cobb and his familiar bat are striking up a pose here. Notice the serious look in his eyes? The upper left corner has a crease and there is surface cracking on the upper and lower right edges. Tape conceals a small tear just below Cobb's cleats. The reverse features an "American League Service Bureau" stamp and "Cobb, Ty" written in red pencil. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, Type 1.
