1928 New York Yankees "For Al Smith" Original News Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1. After winning the 1927 and 1928 World Series in the most dominant fashion, politicians nationwide were probably clamoring for the support of the New York Yankees. In 1928, no politician received more support from the team than Al Smith. In this "International Newsreel" image, measuring approximately 5.5x7.5," Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Benny Bengough, Waite Hoyt, Tony Lazzeri, Joe Dugan, Mark Koenig, Bob Meusel, Earle Combs and mascot Eddie Bennett all hold letters spelling out "For Al Smith" on the barrels of their bats. Original slug on reverse side, with remnants of mounting tape. Overall Good condition with normal creasing. LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1.
