    Description

1928 Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Original News Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1 from The Lou Gehrig Collection.

UPDATE: This lot includes a letter of provenance from the consignor.

One of our favorite photos of the Babe was snapped this day, with a cigar in his teeth and a jauntily tilted bowler on his head. We never knew until now that his sidekick Lou Gehrig was part of the Al Smith get-out-the-vote campaign, but we find them together here, autographing an acoustic guitar. Paper caption identifies the third man as bandleader Andy Sannella, dating the image to "October 27th/28," just weeks after the Yanks swept the Cardinals in the Series. Image measures 8x10". Fine condition. No stamping on verso. LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1. Letter of provenance from consignor.

Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am regarding the sale of my hockey jersey. You were great to work with, you answered all my phone calls and e-mails in a prompt manner, and you did a great job marketing the jersey.
