1927 Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Exchange World Series Pleasantries with The Waner Brothers Original Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1. "We won the World Series before it even got started," Babe Ruth explained. "The Pirates were the other club, and the first two games were scheduled for Forbes Field. Naturally we showed up a day early and worked out in the strange park. We really put on a show. Lou and I banged ball after ball into the right field stands, and I finally knocked one out of the park in right center. Bob Meusel and Tony Lazzeri kept hammering balls into the left field seats. One by one, the Pirates got up and left the park. Some of them were shaking their heads when we last saw them."

Not a single Pirate had reached the double-digit mark for home runs during the 1927 regular season, and the entire team output for the year stood at fifty-four, six fewer than Ruth's record-setting tally for the greatest season in both his career and the history of the franchise he had come to personify. A four-game Fall Classic sweep seemed inevitable, and, ultimately, it was.

Ruth and Murderers' Row teammate Lou Gehrig are exchanging pleasantries with the Waner brothers on this 8x10" original photograph taken prior to the first game. A series of stamps on the reverse do show up through the front surface. The reverse also has an "Underwood & Underwood" paper caption, stamp and three numbers in pencil. The top right corner shows wear. Overall, one of the finest photos we have uncovered from the World Series which would be dominated by the Yankees. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, Type 1.
