    Description

1927-28 Lou Gehrig Signed Barnstorming Photograph.
It's an image we've all seen hundreds of times, but almost without fail as a double-signed modern reprint. So it's always a welcome surprise to see the genuine article, the original 8x10" that was issued to fans during the famous Bustin' Babes vs. Larrupin' Lou's barnstorming tour that brought the Yankee pantheon to the vast expanses of America too distant from a Major League stadium to see these legends any other way.

The 1927 American League MVP was presented this image for signing at one of those barnstorming stops, applying an inscription to his image in 9/10 black fountain pen ink which reads, "To Freddy, With Kindest Personal Regards, Cordially, Lou Gehrig." The 8x10" photograph likewise survives in spectacular condition, with minor age toning the only deviation from its original state. Verso bears "Christy Walsh Management" stamping, referring to the pioneering sports agent who represented both Yankee legends and orchestrated the tour. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from SGC Authentic.
