Description

1924 Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson, John McGraw & More Signed Large Photograph. Truly extraordinary relic owes its existence to the visionary Christy Walsh, the first great sports agent (as well as the gentleman who stands and signs at far right). It was Walsh who helped turn Babe Ruth into a marketing goldmine, organized the Bustin' Babes vs. Larrupin' Lous tour, and even took a firm hand in the development of "The Pride of the Yankees" film to honor his former client Lou Gehrig. Each of the men pictured became considerably more wealthy thanks to this pioneering showman. From left to right, we encounter Nick Altrock (9/10), Ty Cobb (6/10), Babe Ruth (8/10), John McGraw (8/10), Walter Johnson (9/10), George Sisler (9/10), Christy Walsh (8/10).

The oversized (11x17") shot finds the crew in the nation's capital for the 1924 World Series, as printed text at bottom of image reports. Photo exhibits creasing throughout but our catalog imagery should properly convey that the aesthetics remain strong, and certainly condition concerns must take a back seat to the thrill of finding such an assembly of early icons. Matted and framed to 17x23". Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
