    Description

1923 Walter Johnson Original News Photograph Used for Baseball Magazine, PSA/DNA Type 1. Thank god Walter Johnson had a heart of gold. The Big Train didn't back players off the plate as he was afraid he would kill a hitter if one got away. Johnson shows off his calm demeanor on this original 8x10" photograph taken during the 1923 season. Johnson has his arms raised and is captured from the waist up. The image was the photo used for the July 1923 Baseball Magazine cover. A paper caption is glue affixed to the reverse as is a "Pacific & Atlantic" news service stamp. Light corner handling wear. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, Type 1. LOA from The Photo File Archive.
