1923 Babe Ruth World Series Home Run Original News Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1. He smashed 729 home runs in Major League competition, inclusive of the fifteen recorded in World Series play, but this blast in the Game 2 of the 1923 World Series was surely one of the most satisfying because it moved the Yankees one step closer to its first taste of World Championship glory.

We find the svelte Bambino completing his second trip home in the fifth inning of Game 2 in this spectacular image shot from an aerial perspective at the Polo Grounds. Ruth's good luck charm, hunchbacked bat boy Eddie Bennett, holds the scorched lumber as he escorts the 1923 American League MVP from home plate towards the dugout, as The Sultan tips his cap to the cheering multitude.

The 8x10" image bears stamping and a typed paper caption on verso from "International Newsreel." Light editorial markings only serve to enhance the overall ethos of the piece. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, Type 1.
