    Description

1919-20 Babe Ruth Sold to Yankees Original News Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1. As much as we love this youthful image of the great Bambino, clad in the flannel of the Boston Red Sox and striking a southpaw pitching pose, the caption on reverse is even more compelling. It trumpets, in all caps: "BABE RUTH SOLD TO YANKS FOR $125,000." Yes, indeed--this is a photo that accompanied the reporting of a transaction that would shift the baseball world upon its axis.

In light of the enormity of the significance, the distractions of a three-hole punch and a chipped lower left corner fall away. The paper caption goes on to say, "Last year he broke all known home run records having banged out 29. The short right field fence at the Polo Grounds may enable the 'King of Swat' to even better this record." Below this text, we find an "International News Service" stamp. Dimensions are 9.5x7". LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1.

Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am regarding the sale of my hockey jersey. You were great to work with, you answered all my phone calls and e-mails in a prompt manner, and you did a great job marketing the jersey.
