1917 Chicago White Sox Team Photograph with Seven of Eight 1919 Conspirators. Exceptional team photo captures a happier time for the Windy City Americans, with original paper caption on verso announcing "White Sox Squad Soon To Do Battle With Giants On World's Series Diamonds." Of the notorious "Eight Men Out" from the impending 1919 scandal, only Fred McMullin is absent from the image. And along with Shoeless Joe, Hap, Chick, Buck and the rest, we also find Hall of Famers Eddie Collins and Ray Schalk. Each player is identified on paper caption. Image measures 5x9" in size, hand trimmed to those dimensions by a 1917 photo editor, as was standard procedure. Any imperfections to the photo otherwise are so minor as to overstate with a mention. In short, you'll find none finer.
