1915 New York Yankees Team Photograph by Bain, PSA/DNA Type 1. When it comes to vintage photography, it's almost as if the Yankees didn't even exist prior to the arrival of Babe Ruth, with Dead Ball Era shots nearly impossible to locate. Here we find a specimen that bucks the trend in a most delightful way, a spectacular team shot from the lens and darkroom of George Grantham Bain, the most celebrated and collectible photographer of the first quarter of the twentieth century game. Thirty-three team members congregate at the Yanks' spring training facility including manager "Wild Bill" Donovan and Roger Peckinpaugh. "N.Y. Americans, March 1915" appears at upper left border, with "Bain News Service" and "Culver Service" stamping on verso. The 5x7" photo exhibits chipping at edges and corners but the central focus remains almost untouched by these concerns. This is the first season of an unbroken chain of home pinstripes for the Yankees! LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1.
